If you are not familiar with Charles Bradley lets bring you up to speed – the one of a kind soul man burst onto the scene after releasing his debut album No Time For Dreaming (2011) at the tender age of 62. Before this break Bradley didn’t have it easy, working multiple odd jobs, enduring a spell of homelessness and discovering his brothers murdered body. He lived through more pain and hardship than most of us can imagine in the years leading up to Gabriel Roth (of Daptone Records) discovered him performing James Brown covers in a New York nightclub. Though comparisons have been drawn to Marvin Gaye and James Brown, Bradleys deep soul voice is purely his own.
Fast becoming a mainstay on the Australian live circuit, Daptone/Dunham alumni Charles Bradley and his all-star band (comprising of members of The Dap Kings, The Menahan St Band, Budos Band and others) will blow the audience away at next years Blues N Roots.« Back to Artists
