Keb’ Mo’

The saying goes that practice makes perfect so visionary Roots- storyteller Keb’ Mo’ better be on his game when he returns to West Coast Blues ‘n’ Roots for the fourth time. The legendary roots man has braved the journey from Nashville every two years since 2006, and has wowed audiences every single time. But 2015, is set to be his best performance yet because his slick 2014 album BLUESAmericana went number one in America. His most successful release in almost two decade, Keb’ Mo’ makes sure to clear out a few emotional cobwebs before getting down and gritty. With a name like Keb’ Mo’, the singer was never going to be easily forgotten, and has long been a key figure in contemporary blues music. Cementing himself as a master of American Roots music, Keb’ has undergone a sound transformation – taking on the swinging qualities of African-American folk-soul singer-songwriters like Bill Withers, Bobby Womack and Terry Callier. We’re a little unsure how exactly musos mark their success, but surely you know you’re good when someone names a guitar after you!! Instrument maker Gibson Brands issued the Keb’ Mo’ Signature Bluesmaster acoustic guitar in honour of the guitar riff master! We’re still wondering if he’ll be bringing one to the West Coast Blues ‘n’ Roots stage in 2015, but either way prepare to be schooled by Keb’ Mo’.
