Some people call him the space cowboy. Some people call him the gangster of love. Some people call him Maurice. You know how it goes. Ladies and gentleman – it’s Steve Miller! The man responsible for that ubiquitous track (“The Joker”) is also behind many other hits throughout the years, and still continues to rock just as hard today as he did back in 1968 when he was backing up the legendary Chuck Berry in San Francisco. His achievements are long and extensive. Many, many huge albums and songs including (but not limited to) “Space Cowboy”, “Fly Like An Eagle”, “Book Of Dreams” and a multitude more. Perhaps the greatest indication of the popularity of the Steve Miller Band is the fact that his Greatest Hits 1974-1978 record has sold thirteen million copies in the United States and is ranked 37th on the Record Industry Association of America’s list of best selling albums of all time. In Australia for the first time since 1993, we are honoured to bring the Joker himself down under for Blues n’ Roots this year.
