As far as pedigrees for rock bands go, it’s pretty tough to go past The DomNicks. Formed by Perth based Dom Mariani and Nick Sheppard, the band is a powerful blend of swagger ‘n’ roll rock, soul and pop smarts. Mariani is best known as the driving force behind The Stems, DM3 and The Someloves, while Sheppard’s pedigree boasts 80’s Bristol punks The Cortinas and thereafter as Mick Jones’ replacement in the 1983-86 line-up of The Clash. The DomNicks deal in a visceral blend of rock n’ roll, paying homage to the masters of the past whilst at the same time forging a unique sound of their own. Their debut album Super Real was recently released and continues the band’s reputation for gutsy guitar sounds and effortless hooks. They’re toured all over the world and the country but The DomNicks will be joining us for the first time at West Coast Blues n’ Roots – so make sure you give them a big old Freo welcome!
